Help! A friend of mine has a '99 F-250 Power Stroke 4X4 and it just had a melt down literally. He called me and said the power steering pump was making alot of noise and smelled like something burning. When I got there the pump had gotten so hot it melted the cap/dipstick and was moving no fluid at all. We replaced the pump and got the same problem.
Is this a hydro boost problem or a steering sector problem or am I missing something else that could cause this.
This is a new one on me, if anyone has had something like this happen to them please let me know what it was. I hate to just start throwing parts at the stupid thing and rely on fate to fix it.
Thanks in advance , Smokey
