Help it breath with better exhaust & a cold air intake.
Start there & see how you like it.

im thinking about the K&N performance air in take its like $200 + and im thinking about oopening up the exhaust by only haveing cherry bombs. but how would that sound with it being a 4 banger? i did that to my desiel last year and it sounded awsome. i want my truck to be loud but i dont want it to sound like these stupid "walmart" shoping buggys going down the road (an import with a wing) anyone know of anthing that will make my truck sound good?

You could try a factory turbo muffler for a Dodge 2.2, or any other make that would fit. Have the tailpipe exit in front of the rear wheel & that will increase the sound too.
Both are cheap options to something like a Gibson cat back system.

Put on an intake and a gibson catback or something similar. Other people say that the gibson doesn't make the 4cyl sound like a 'ricer'. After that, remove the belt driven radiator fan and install an electric one. A chip wouldn't hurt either, diablo makes a dual stage chip that will allow to run either 87 octance for minimum gains, or 92 octane for most gain. Of course you can do a couple little free mods, remove the silencer on the factory air intake, and tighten the throttle cable.
