Auxiliary Switch Mounting Positions

Hey guys, I'm a new user who discovered this site while searching the web after trading in my '01 F250 Lariat 4X4 for an '04 F150 Lariat Supercrew 4X4. Great site by the way, I have read many informative articles in the forums. However, they have already cost me $1500, since after reading about the Kenwood DDX7015 I just had to order one!

Anyway, I need to mount about 5 toggle switches for various emergency lights (strobes, wig-wags, LEDs, etc.) that will be installed on the truck and I can't find any convenient place to put them. I have the captain chairs with the middle console and I have thought about getting a piece of plastic fabricated and mounting the switches inside the ashtray compartment that swings out. Is this a good idea or is it even possible, any feedback with other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I need to mount a siren control box that measures around 6x6x2.5 somewhere too. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't see why a couple of toggle switches wouldn't fit great in the ashtray (I have my xm commander there.) the siren control may be more difficult, all I can think of is putting it in the center console below the armrest.

Stay safe!

What about the roof. Somewhere in the middle facing towards the back? I have toggle switches up there in my dad's 87 F250. They are for strobes and stuff. Not sure if that would work for you but just a thought.

If your truck has the overhead rail system you could possibly mount them in a rail bin. The trick would be running the wiring down.
