Hey Dave!! How you been? Right now I'm running straight WW fluid, which from waht I can tell isn't regulated all that well and will vary from 15-20% meth. It's a pretty nice kick in the pants so I doubt if I'll add any more to the mix.

Mine is a early 01....forged baby!!

You ever get your injectors straightened out? Gonna try one of Swamps pumps?

I have been stressed with my truck. Waiting for HPOP for 5 weeks now and just had a fuel pump let loose at 66,000 miles. So i ordered up the SX pump from DI with all new lines. I put the regulated return on about 2 months ago. I will be keeping the 175cc single shots and should see some good power gains with those and the HPOP.

Forged rods are a good thing, i lucked out also. Barto with the 2002 or 2003 Black extended cab with 35's at the dyno day, lost his motor a couple weeks ago running water/meth injection. We still are unsure of the cause, but think it might be related. Other than that, thats it, the fuel and oil pump should be here next week, so my truck sits till then. Ill keep you updated on the install and the test drive.

Was he the one from the MOB board that was experimenting with it by running it down at 2-3 psi? If that was him I wouldn't doubt it if he got a CP spike that shattered a rod. Everybody says a minimum of 15psi before you turn the water on.

Bummer about your truck... I've heard that the big pumps with the non-hybrid injectors are going to end up being the way to go, so you may be out front running that deal. You are going to end up with killer power. I hope it comes together for you soon.

Did you keep the 200's, or did you trade them for the 175's?

I traded the 200s for 175s, for now at least, im going to see how the truck runs and go from there.

Water/meth, negative on the guy that was experimenting, that is Dale with the excursion, he has now added Mini Mes to his setup. The guy that blew his motor had PM rods and i think was running WW fluid, where as Dale only runs water and doesnt notice a hugh HP gain, but much lower EGTS. I couldnt believe when I rode in his truck, its about a 200-300 degree drop in EGTS. Very cool, that might be my next purchase, after i recover from this weeks spendings.

Yeah, it's wild to watch it drop like that. I've noticed the meth will bring the EGT's back up 100 or so degrees, but I think it's worth it as the power is beter and the EGT's are still 100+ lower than without the water.

I hope Barto figures out exactly what killed his engine, if there is a downside to water injection I'd like to hear about it. I've had no trouble at all, and I spray it every single time I get in the truck.

Hey guys, I have been following the Meth/Water thread in the 6.0 area. Very interesting but long thread. It would appear that an engine was lost when the meth/water ratio was raised to 60/40. Seems way to high of ratio. I have not heard of anyone losing an engine when running washer fluid or keeping the mix under 50/50. I am planning to run the meth/water kit in the next couple of weeks and hope to see some power improvements as well as lower egt's. I will keep everyone posted of the results.

Anybody know how to get ahold of DPS. Ordered a kit and trying to get a tracking number, no return phone calls, no return e-mails.

When you call DPS, the number is the direct line to the owner's (Ken Englesman) cell phone. Sometimes he is hard to get ahold of as he is the only person there who responds to customer requests. Keep trying him or just wait on it; you WILL be happy with it when you get it. Trust me.

Yes, it toasted it when I ran 60/40. The mix was stoichometrically too high; there was more methanol than water; which mixes chemically at 1:1 ratio - the excess was burned as pure methanol, which advances the timing too far. The normal result is a broken rod; however on my engine the head gasket went first.

I've been having the same trouble the last day or so....he might be on vacation or something. Don't be suprised if you end up waiting a while for delivery. When I ordered mine a few months back he was having a hard time keeping up with the demand, and it ended up being about 6 weeks before it shipped.

While I wasn't to happy about that, there was an up side, he didn't charge my card until the day it shipped so I didn't ever feel like I was getting rolled....and the big old cheesy grin you get the first time the water hits will make you forget about the wait.

Hey Dan, haven't seen you around much lately either....you MOB boys been hiding somewhere?

I don't believe that water injection poses a threat to PM rods. While it does make higher cylinder pressures (everything that adds power does), it does not create the massive CP spikes that shatter rods. If anything I would think the water would retard the timing of the flame front a bit, but I'm no engineer (I did stay at a holiday inn express last night)

Clearly I'm talking about straight water, or a low meth mixture.

Ken was a bit hard to get ahold of when I ordered my kit. The demand was high and I waited maybe 4 weeks for delivery. But it was well worth it! I have been running a 50/50 mix with NO problems and I use the system at least once a day. He also waited to charge my card.
