I have yet to find an oil pressure gauge with a high enough range to accomodate what Choctaw Bob reported his oil pressure to be that will match in a set. Having 'puter problems with flashviewer and can't see all of the autometer site and motorhaven hasn't responded to my email yet so I'm still waiting. I'm not particularly married to any brand but I want them all to match. The underdash "pod" is cool but won't really fit my needs since the cupholder is always in use. Was wondering how long a pyro lead wire to use since I'm gonna plumb the exhaust manifold and go to the top of the dash--"A" pillar pod and top of dash pod from Banks--is the 6' long enough to loom route it and still get close to the top of the "A" pillar--anyone know?

Auto Meter has a 200 lb. gage. ATM - 4322 (Summit part no.) Ultra lite 2 1/16" Mechanical Gage.
The Pyro lead wire with the Auto meter gage is plenty long to reach either downpipe or driver's side manifold. Mine is mounted on top of the dash in a home made gage pod.(in my gallery)
Man oh Man,
Do I really appreciate this link! I have been looking for something just like this because I also want to keep my grab handle. I am going to the Banks site now.
Thanks,
John Russell
Hey Choctaw, I finally got off my behind and put the gauges in my truck with the dashmount gauge pod I bought for $42. Tim I know I said I would post it so here it is. And no, I have not put the Banks Chip in yet but as soon as I do I will dyno it for all of you. It is still sitting in my living room in the box.
I've been behind in checking things out but your gage pod is really nice. It's hard to get me out in the heat this time of year to work on anything.
Choctaw, I know the feeling. I still have not actually hooked anything up because it has been almost 100 degrees here in seattle and we have no AC in most of our buildings. I can't wait to dyno the Banks system and it is killing me that Ford can't figure out my idle up problem. They think it is the Air conditioning idle up sensor malfunctioning but until they figure it out they advised not to modify anything.
Your gauge install looks great. I think the dash pod is the solution for gauge mounting I am looking for. How is the gauge pod mounted to the dash? Did you have to drill any holes in the dash for wires or hoses?
No drilling at all. The unit attaches with velcro (cheesy) but it stays on really well. You could substitute for double sided tape if you wanted but the velcro keeps it nice and tite. the wires run down the left side of the pod into your A-pillar. If you mount it correctly you can't see them at all.
Please check with Motorhaven (sponsor of this site) first because they can get Autometer products for you. I put in the picture just so that you could see it.
I have the same underdash pod and my paint matched up about like yours did (close, but not an exact match). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to better match up the colors? The can I bought says it is for my truck/interior color.
I logged on the Banks Power web site to look for the dash mount pod like jasfaa has in his gallery, and while looking, I saw a link to request a report for actual dyno results of their products on like vehicles. I filled out the information and sent it in and went back to my search. About a minute and a half later(true story!) my phone rang in my office and upon answering I heard " Hi John, Gail Banks here, so tell me about your truck!". I was stunned! I was looking at his picture on his web site and talking to him!
After a few minutes of discussion concerning air flow in, exhaust out and gauge sets, he made me a deal on his dash mount pod and boost & pyro set.
Now, that is the pinnacle of good customer service, when the company owner calls his prospective clients within less than two minutes after sending in an e-mail. This kind of reminds me of Dillon Precision, but that is another subject altogether concerning reloading equipment.
My new stuff should arrive late next week.
