Air box question

Air box question
Just curious if any one knows the answer to this. I have a 2000 F250 with the powerstoke and I want to know if a airbox out of a 02 F250 powerstroke will fit mine. Ford said no but I think thay just wanted me to buy from them. Any help would be great, Thanks Brandon

Brandon, I think it would fit but I may be wrong. I know the 6.0 is different. If you have to replace it you can get the severe duty AIS and put on yours, especially if you are still under warranty. The severe duty uses the same technology as the ones on the 6.0. You can get it from ford parts network for $189. If you are not concerned about warranty, the Tymar is a good choice. Some have even made their own. My tabs broke on my 01 box and I replaced it.

i don't know if will work or not but why would you want to make that switch. neither of them are a great performance setup or even a great filtering setup take you money and buy a tymar for somewhere under $150 and have a real filter that flows more air and no dirt.

You are correct, the Tymar is an great intake and doesn't cost that much compared to others, but consider what 01stroker said. If you are under warranty, there will be no problems maintaining the warranty if you get the Ford AIS. It filters the same as the Tymar and will give you a lot more air than the stock setup. The Tymar allow more airflow than the AIS though because of the open element design. If you're planning on heavily modding the truck anyway warranty isn't really an issue. Either way, you will get a good system.
