Thumbs up

Do you really want the 2005, or are you waiting for the huge discounts on the 2004. Depending on what you want, you can get a great deal if you wait.

ftsrb01,

I know that 2004 was the first model year, and some people will say to wait for the "bugs" to get worked out in 2005.

But, after watching this group for eight months, it looks a little like Ford has been making incremental changes all along. The trucks built recently seem to have all the bugs already worked out.

If I'm correct, that means the end of year rebates and prices will make the 2004 an incredible value.

Other posters; feel free to add your opinions. Does it sound like I'm on the right track??

I was just wondering about the date. I'm going to be ordering my new one within the next couple months. Thought if the 05's were out already then I'd be getting one of those because since I'd be ordering it, then it would definetly not be an 04. If I can find an 04 with all the options I want on it towards the end of the year I will definetly take advantage of those discounts though. haha, who wouldn't??

I would never buy another f150 I don't care what year it is!!
I've got a $50000(cdn) vibrating piece of crap 04 lariat scab(good name for it) that they can't or won't fix! It's been in the shop 5 times or once a month for a total of over 3 weeks! Build date was Nov/03 in Norfolk.
It seems everything is "within ford specs"! Well let me tell you no truck should shimmy and vibrate down the road like this one does and I'd put money up that none of you that say you have a good one would drive it either! Apply the brakes and the steering wheel shimmies back and forth with only 9000 miles at a all speeds but the rotors are of course within specs also. Take off in the morning and the rear end shutter makes it feel like it's going to fall out! The A/C sucks the big one too! The supposed 300hp 5.4 is a complete joke too as a stock honda civic blows it off the line.Every TSB applied has only made it worse and now the owner of the dealership has offered to buy it back as I threatened to sue! Ford can shove their specs you know where! NEVER AGAIN! They did offer me an 05 but it's going to be no better than the 04.
For you die hard Ford fans I am not flaming here just passing on my experiences and with that I could not recemmend the F150 to anyone but with all the problems you can read about on all of these forums a person would have to be a hell of a gambler to even consider one.If you are I have one for sale!

There's no doubts that there are gonna be problems with the trucks on the first yr run. You merely got a lemon truck and that happens when they are massed produced. More people get great trucks than people get lemons, its just that we dont post how great the trucks are. Frankly, I love my truck to death. Only problem ive had with mine is burying it in mud up to the axle. Sorry you have a bad truck.

I agree Sub.
I know that the folks with problems should be mad. I would if I paid this much money and was not satisfied. I have had my FX4 since Nov. 03 and have loved every minute of it. I have recommend this truck to 6 people and let them drive mine and each one went and bought one immediatly and they have had zero problems also.

I have owened about 10 ford trucks over the years and noit one of them ever had a problem or had to be taken in for any reasom other than routine maintainence and I am thankful and know that I have had some luck on my side.

IMO There is just no better made truck on the planet than the F150's. Most people don't get on these boards and crow with a rooster unless asked because there are people with problems and to me it is like rubbibng a wound in alchol

Rayway I really do feel for you and no offence taken, everyone needs to vent and blow some steam. Just wish there was something we could do to help. Good luck.
