Hello: all
I am looking for any info on Energy Release Produts one is a antifriction metal conditioner that treats the metal instead of trying to make the oil slicker as many do. I was on the oil forum looking for this info. What I would like to find is folks who have used this product and get thier
opinion of this product, also I am looking for independant test data.
I would also like to thank FTE for this site as I am a true blue ford fan, with two f100 69-72 trucks and a 64 Fairlane 500.
Isn't this the same thing Slick 50 claimed years ago? They claimed it bonded to the metal and prevented wear on start up. They've since been fined by the FTE.
Hello: Ken
according to ER their are no solids(teflon, moly, zinc graphite or metals) found in most all other conditioners like slick 50.As I understand slick 50 was fined for false claims on their product. I have a copy of ER's tech circular showing their independent lab test & ASTM testing, what I'm looking is test from others
who have tested it and users of this products opinion.
What are they using in it that's different? What does "bonding to metal" do? Oxygen bonds to metal and its called rust. What are you looking to do with this elixer that a good oil doesn't already do for the engine? I really implore you to read the Snake Oil article on the tech section of the web site.
People have been claiming to come up with magic oil additives since autos have first been around. The only one I know of that has stood the test of time is Marvel Mystery Oil. And its really not an additive, but a detergent. I think the reasons additives sell is everyone likes to think he's done better than the average Joe when it comes to their vehicle. If it really reduced friction, I think an automotive company would be putting it in their cars so they could claim higher mileage without spending extra $$$.
I read the article you spoke of Dated 1992. Just as this forum proably wasn't in existence then, technology has progressed,The technology of ER and many of the newer conditioners were in there infancy. You ask why I was interested in these products, I like for my equipment to last as long as possible with as much performance as possible. Why don't auto manufactors use these technologies, they have the technology to create vechiles capable of 1,000,000
miles but they don't do to sales. If standard oils are all we need then why are their so many specialty oils out their, who's to say some of these additves aren't in them. I have used additives in street and racing applications with performance and economy
gains. I currently own a 92 Areostar with over 200,000. miles and have used additives for 150,000
of those miles. As I stated in my opening post I'm
looking for info on this product along with those
who have used this product.
