First things first, I got my 04 150 EXT Cab in November of 03 and love it. It pulls my 26' trailer so much better then my 2001 250 did. I have nothing but good things to say about this truck.
I have only one thing thats driving me NUTS!!!!. On the inside of each front door window I will get a grease mark about 3" long in the same place every time I open or close them. I remember an early post that in time it would stop,Well that is not the case for me. I found that the only thing that takes it off with ease is LPS spray. I did have tint put on but got the marks with or without the tint.
So today I took the truck in for some small things and one being the grease marks. I was told that there is nothing thay can do! (SURE). At that time I went and talked to the Rep I got my last 4 vehicals from and after showing him he was to say the least shocked at there reply. I told them that this is not the first time I have heard about this and would find out more and get back to them. This is not my responsibility but now its the point of it. So If anyone can help THANKS.
I have 9500 miles on my 04 F150 XLT SCab and the gerase marks just showed up about two weeks ago. They are a pain to remove. I figured I was the only one that this happened to. Thanks for the thread!
I'm going to track this thread to see if there has been a failure in something or just poor design.
Also, I'd like to find an easier way to clean them up. They showed up after my last oil change so I have not said anything to my dealer yet.
I've had mine since day one. I've been waiting tint my windows because I thought it may get damaged. I'm going to take mine in for this problem, now that its not just my truck.
Ive had grease on both passenger and drivers side. It has been in shop 3 times, and getting ready to go in for the 4th because it is appearing again on drivers side.
I have had my STX in the shop three times to fix this problem , mine showed up on both windows about 2 months after I got the truck. I just got the truck back on monday and it is fixed this time. I spoke with the service manager and he said that they found some sort of tape that was rubbing near the acutator on both windows every time the window would go up or down. As a matter of fact, he told me that the first he saw of this problem was just last week when he had three other trucks with this same problem. Maybe the reason it surfaced now is the incredible heat that we live with here in Houston and it is just now affecting the part of the window where there is tape. Not sure what they would tape up since there aren't any wires with manual windows. Anyways, I am finally happy to get this issue resovled.
And here I thought it was the Rhino sprayin bedliner guy that was to blame for getting the stuff on my window. (Right now just the drivers side)
I have found that good old RUBBING ALCOHOL and a clean cotton cloth will take it right off..much cheaper than the other stuff!!!
The problem being that it comes right back next time you run your window up and down a couple of times.
I sure hate to think of having a mechanic start pulling door panels, etc. off, to clean it up, cause after they put it back, things NEVER are the same.
I am glad to find out I am not alone. Mine is on the passenger side only so far. Been there since about the first week. Now that I know it wasn't something I did I will take it in as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for the post.

My driver side window just started doing that about a month ago (since it's been warm out). I bought my truck in November, so I guess I get to spend some more time at the dealer. yay...
On the early builds, the window regulator cables (between door inner and glass) were fixed to the door inner panel using TAPE. Perhaps the tape came undone and the cable is rubbing on the window when it is cycled. Also, there is a butyl patch (dampener) placed on the inside of the door outer panel (between door outer and glass) that may have come off and is rubbing on the glass causing the streaks. If the trim panel and water shield are removed you should be able to see both through the window regulator hole, with a little inspection. If the dealer is refusing to service your vehicle...I would definately call the customer service number 800-392-3673.
I have had this problem since day one and I couldn't get rid of it and was afraid to try any harsh chemicals because I didn't want to damage my window tint. GET A MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER! For less than 3 bucks the thing works fantastic on this window grease. I keep it in my center console and every few days I wet it and take the grease right off. I wish I didn't have the grease problem but if I keep cleaning it, won't it run out eventually?
