Bad 1989 frames ?

Virtually EVERY one of in my group of friends that bought 1989 F150 4x4s has broken/cracked frames. All of these trucks were used differently from construction to farming to pleasure car. Does anyone know if there was a recall on these trucks/frames or if there is a class action suit in progress ? Thanks, Panrider

never heard of anything of the like, did all of the frames crack at the same points, or did they do it at different places? have you heard about this happening to any other models, or years?s

Bad frames

I have never heard of this until we bought 89's. Mine broke behind the trailing arm in the front. over the rear wheel arch, at the front bumper mount , and over the front wheel arch. One of the other trucks broke in 3 places over the rear wheel arch on one side and 2 places on the opposite side. Have seen 4 others as well in yards that were broken over the wheel arches. Bad steel ? Just curious what is going on here. I own a 2000 F150 and no frame problems, and still own my '73 F250 w/ no frame problems. ( and I work them ) . I have owned several dozen Fords over the years and have not seen this before. Panrider

Me either, i have an 87 250, and never had a lick of trouble out of it, and father has a 97 150, never had that either. both of these trucks are work trucks, and they get used as well. was gonna say that if they broke all in the same place, then would say that it was something to do with the way that they were forged, or assembled, but seems like they are all breakin in different places, sorry i can help, have never heard of such stuff!
