Well after all of the posts in reply to chipping or putting a programable tuner on the 02, I decided to go with the SuperChip, Dealer installed it and it's in the tow-safe mode. Like the power increase, but sure don't like the hard shifts in the transmission. Is this a trade off for the extra power and torque? Don't suppose there is anything that can be done make the shifts smoother, is there? Thanks
It's not the extra power or torque causing it to shift harder. Your superchip programmer is designed to make the trans shift quicker to increase the life of your tranny by reducing slippage. A slow shift on the tranny is a much smoother ride, but the added slippage builds up heat, especially climbing hills, or stop and go traffic.
I have the diablo predator tuner. I am interested in changing my shifts but I can't figure out how to do it. I don't see anything in the manual that was sent. Anyone have any ideas? I know it is something easy, I just can't seem to see the forest through the trees.
When you select a tune it will show "install tune" or "modify tune". Select modify tune and then select "modify parameters". The next screen should say "install tune" or "shifting". Select shifting and then select the type of shifting you wish to use. Hope this helps!
