Cab mount ideas
First off.... Great web site! Now, I have a 1979 F350 which I removed the cab from and picked up a 1990 model cab to replace it. Both trucks were/are one ton standard shift, pretty much the same. Here is the question, The 79 front cab mounts seem in the same position as the 90, but the rear cab mounts for the 79 are outside the frame and the 90 has the mounts on a cross member between frame rails. this crossmember is also on the 79 model, and it appears to have a place for the mounts but of course it is not drilled to accept them. My 1966 F250 has the same configuration as the 1990 cab mounts, did ford change the position of the mounts and leave a provision to switch mount position back? I can fabricate a cross member to accomidate the new cab, but if the current cross member will work with some modification I'd sure like to hear it!
