There is only hot air coming out of the vents of my wifes Explorer. Can anyone tell me where the temp flap is found? And is there a test for the temp slide. Does the Electronic temp gages work in a regular dash.

If yours is a '95-'98 Explorer then you are looking at a $600-$1100 repair from Ford. It is probably your heater blend door, which requires the removal of the dash and all associated hardware to replace it. Labor is the killer. The part is about $125.

I know this is an old topic, but thanx. I'm going to do the work myself. I just cannot tell if its the blend door or the switch. Is it normal to have AC then nothing. Does anyone have the right part number for the blend door, and can the Electronic gages work, I would like to switch to electronic Heater/AC. I'll get the part from the wreackers, but will it work? or will I have to change the wiring harness? Thanx
