I hate to sound dump on my first post.(2002 Explorer 4.0) I have had the the P0401 for a number of months. As soon as it started I changed the egr and it came back on I then changed the PDFE and again it came back on. After reading on this form for a couple of days I decided to pull the throttle body and intake to clean the ports in the intake for the EGR. Mr smart guy got the new egr and throttle body gasket as well as the 6 manifold seals. Here in is the problem....where the heck are the ports I could not find them. Could some one tell me where they are and how many there should be. I looked and looked sprayed TB cleaner scrapped around and still did not find them. Put it all back together and within 15 miles it was back on. OK so someone give me a road map to those little buggers before I pull it down again next weekend. Thanks
Wish I could help but I think you made a mistake and posted in the wrong forum.
If you have an Explorer with the 4.0, you messed up. This is the 3.8 and 4.2 forum. All together different engines compared to the 4.0 SOHC and DOHC engines.
Give the guys a shout in that forum and maybe they can help.
