I'll see what I can do, dont have a scanner, but I'll figure something out.I actually thought of that last night, would be easier for all.
I did not get to try this yet, still at work.

No problem. I sent you an email.

The schematic doesn't say what relay it is under the hood, but they are a common ground relay, all you would have to do is add a switch to supply 12V to the relay to trip it. I will look tomorrow, but I think, when standing by the driver side tire facing fuse box, there is another small relay box directly above it. I think it is the Left relay, and the right side relay is the battery charge. Quick way to check would be to turn key to on, pull both relays, you should be able to feel the battery charge relay clicking. the other of course would be the backup relay. Good luck, let us know if you have more questions.

No problem...

I have yet to do this cangim, but I just ran out to the garage and yanked each relay one by one, and the power remained on using a testlight, testing both Pos, and back up contacts on the plug.....

Heres a pic showing the relays, three in the back, two in the front.

Would I still have power even though I pulled each relay individually?

Yes one side of the relay should always have power, it will be the fused link coming in to the relay. Think that answers your question. Try this, in the fuse panel, mine is fuse 4 - TRAILER TOW BACKUP LAMPS / TRAILER TOW PARK LAMPS. Remove the Relay's, on the relay it should indicate what pins are for the coil and what ones are for the contacts. There will be one pin for the contacts that is common. That is the one that the power from the fuse panel comes in. All five should have power on the common pin, remove fuse 4 (or which ever fuse indicates the trailer tow backup lamps) then check all five again. One of the five should no longer have power. My truck is a pre 99, don't know if the fuse panel layout changed or not. At any rate, the manual should tell you what fuse it is.

Let's muddy the H20 somemore. How about using trailer running lights to double as turn signals like on the big trucks. Anybody have any idea?
