This question comes up alot, but i need to know which wires are + & - at the speakers in an F150 SCREW 2004. The colors are different at the HU harness.
Thanks
Usually the large spade is the positive, if the wire has a black stripe, its a ground, one color is positive. Run a meter on them, they are DC and if the meter reads with a - before the voltage, switch the probes and the meter should read without the - and there you have your positive and negative, via red and black probes.
Here is a trick that I was told this past weekend.
Remove a speaker, leave the OEM plug attached, but cur the wire back about 2 inches prom the plug.
Tke the speaker to the work bench and strip back the wires.
grab a battery......any battery will do.
Touch the wires, one to each end of the battery and watch the cone move.
If the cone moves away from the magnet, then take note of where the positive end of the battery is and the color of the wire. TAAA DAH!!
Thats the positive lead!!!
