Hi all, I tried some searching and havent been able to answor my question yet.
Does anyone make replacement pannels for the beds of the 1964 F-100's? Or even the hole floor would be great. Mine is rusted at the front of the box but all is in the corigated steel pannels. I would like to keep original if I can.
I know the 65 and 66 had different floors than the 64 but I dont know if the 63 or 62 is interchangeable with the 64
Thanks CustomCab, I was realy hoping someone made exact replacement pans for the bed of my truck. I was wanting to keep it as original as possible?
Thanks
Mac
Well, if you want to go to the trouble of replacing the entire bed floor, the later model one will work. The ribs are shaped different, BUT since you'd be replacing all of them it would look ok. It's just a LOT of work.
Later, Phil
I should add that if you go that route get a factory replacement panel, NOT a panel from an existing bed. I didn't count them, but there are hundreds of spot welds that have to be drilled out and then repaired. Way too much work to be considered fun. The 'replacement' panel won't have those welds on it. The last (late model 80-96) 8' bed floor I saw at a swap was around $250.
By comparison, the last 8' 64-66 NOS floor I saw was over $600! That's what made good ol flat steel look so darn good.
Glad you posted that Phil. I recently purchased a 86 4X4 with it's bed side bashed in and noticed the bed floor was in excellent shape, got the ol tape measure out and found the measurements to be darn near the same as my 66. Naturally the ol wheels started turning.
Are these Ford replacement panels that you are referring to or Chineese?
Sorry this took so long. I've been on vacation.
Those 'replacement' panels I was refering to are Ford made repair panels. As far as I know nobody else makes FULL bed floors for anything, EVEN Chevy trucks. That's a suprise, huh?
Good luck, Phil
