good heads

Lookin to rebuild the top end on my 460 and was hopin to get some numbers and opinions. Stock 76 460 from a lincoln mark IV, stealth intake, L&L full length headers, edelbrock 750. What kind of numbers can I expect from putting some D8VE-D9VE heads, and an X256H cam? I have read alot of post about these heads and I have figured from what I have read that I should end up somewhere in the ballpark of 9.5:1, 350 h.p. and 500 ft-lbs

I think 350hp is a bit high but you might be able to make it. I think more like 310 to 320hp. I don't known anything about the heads though so i can't say.

You are loooking about 25% power loss thru the drivetrain. And since i'm back, go a little bigger on the cam! I think maybe 420-430 tq. So I figure 235 rwhp and 315 rwtq.

thanks guys I finished the mods this weekend and found the timing chain to be extemely loose, I have never seen a timing chain that wore out. But it is fixed now, I didnt put the heads on but the cam, timing set and carb made a huge difference.

Do you mean C8VE/C9VE??? If not, any head past D2 will not effect the motor, they were all pretty much identical heads made after D2 thru EFI. If you ment C, then your looking around 310ish gross HP. Maybe 400ish torque. I would have to run the cam on DD to give a better guesstimate.
