I got replacement letters for my '83 F100 easily even though Ford said they were not available... secret is they are the same as the '86 Ranger decals. The part number is...
E6TZ-9942528-AW. That is the part number for white letters. In 2001 the price was $28.36.
Try National Parts Depot. Go to www.npdlink.com and order the free 317 page catolog for 1948-1998 ford trucks, they have orginal style decals in there. Fred
And how, exactly, are you going to pry off an adhesive decal that's been baked into place for a decade in a reusable condition, let alone with a screwdriver? :-P
Dude... this thread hasn't been touched since July of 2004... why are you just now chiming in?
And you joined FTE in March of 2004 and this is now your second post since joining? What's up with that?
Hey, take it easy now! Just because you've been to Skiatook 4 times from Denver for the GTG and he's not made it all the way up from Tulsa once doesn't mean you can get all uppitty. (How do you spell "uppitty"? No matter how I spell it I get red squigglies.) Give a guy some time. Some of us are just getting up to speed in 12 years.

In the first 12 years of life, sure, that's a valid explanation.
Quite honestly, my first thoughts revolved around a possibly-compromised account; most people who join-ask-leave do just that - leave after getting their answer. Seeing somebody come back fully 12 years after joining - and then respond to a 12 yo thread - raises eyebrows, that's abbey-normal.
On the subject any one know where to get a free standing decal of Ford script like was stamped on the tail gates of the older trucks?
All I find are white Ford script in a blue oval. I don't want or need the blue oval back ground.
I am looking for a decal of this script to put on the tail gate.
Thanks

If you're feeling artistic, you could stencil it yourself. If not, you could
have it stenciled. Maybe even take it to a tint/vinyl wrap guy and have him do it.

I am thinking a sign place will have to make it for me.
I have some time before I need it so I can hunt down a truck to get measurements from as I would like to keep it the same size or little bigger as the factory had.
Just 1 of the custom touches I want to add to my truck.
My wife is into crafty stuff. She now has a CNC paper cutter. Well, that's not what it's marketed as, but as a mechanical engineer that's what I see it as. But seriously, you get a pattern loaded into it and it traces it out on a variety of media. You can put a pen in it, but more commonly it uses a cutting tip. People use these to cut vinyl that can be applied to a bunch of things, including vehicles.
The brand my wife has is called a Cricut (pronounced like the insect). No, I'm not offering that't she'll make it for you (she'd not appreciate that). But it's another path to getting something like that made.
And they do get pretty creative. Here's an internet picture of a French truck that was decorated by a plumbers wife with one of these.

Maybe consider having it airbrushed ? A good AB artist can make it look 3D with shading, shadows, etc. until you get real close.
