Nope, just the usual stuff for gm, and older ford's. The only hi-po coil pack any of them had was for a 4 cyl. (single pack) or a v8 (dual pack).

Gentlemen, I believe we have been slighted, we should demand our hi-po ignition parts. Ok, like that's gonna help

They have 'em for 4 banger's and eights, but no sixes newer than about 96-98. Nothing for the 4.2 at all.

Lets not be so hasty! From which motor did our beloved 4.2 evolve from?Thats right, the 3.8! And,where can you find this 3.8? Correct again, the Mustang! Do a search on 3.8 Mustang hi-po parts,or Mustang websites and i'm sure you will find that hi-po coil lurking about there! Oh,lets not forget the T-Birds and the Cougars with the 3.8!

I've searched a lot of stuff for 3.8's and 4.2's, and I've come up empty. I know I have not searched them all, but I may need a little help.

So come on guy's , doesn't anybody else want a high po coil on their 4.2??

How much are these deals and what kind of gains can I expect?

It's getting interesting now...

Gotta find one first, they seem to be related to big foot. we've heard about them, but no one has actually seen one, and can prove it. Ha -Ha

WVF150, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. The main reason I am interested in this , is because I too have had a problem. Sometimes , when I start my truck, it runs fine. Other times it seems sluggish, and doesn't run well until it gets higher rpm.
I can tell immediately when I start it, how it will run that particular time. I can stop, cut it off, then re-start it, and sometimes it will purr like a kitten. My coil also checks at the upper limit according to the Haynes manual. I have 125k on my '02 , so instead of a factory job, I am looking for some hi-po replacements.

No problem travlnman. I've been keeping up with thread just to see if you find something hi-po or if one of these Ford techs on here might know the Ford spec numbers to check against. I looked yesterday for a short time and came up with notta.....Mine is doing the exact same thing. What was the resistance on yours? As you may have read in my original post, mine and the new one I checked were both bad according to the Haynes spec numbers. I would think a bad coil would be more obvious than what I'm/we're experiencing.
