What is a "bum bum" sound? I guess we shall agree to disagree. You like what you like, and I like what I like. Who is "lecturing"?

I personally installed the following in my Ranger XLT extended cab:

Alpine HU
2 sets of Infinity Reference Series 6x8 in the doors (front and back)
MTX and PPI amps
2 10 inch JL Audio in a Powerwedge box

Not overly exmpensive, did he install myself, and the sound quality is very good. May not win any stereo comps, but that wasn't what I was going for, as most people want a nice sounding system and not just the SPL.

Just my 2 cents....

Here's what I ran in my last truck (96 s10 ext cab)

Eclipse 5443 head
Eclipse 12" subs (2)
Mtx thunder 5400 5 channel amp
Eclipse 4 inch component set
Diamond Audio 5 1/4 Component set
Harrison labs 1F cap
This setup hit 136.4 db
The reason i dont run this now is that it vwas jacked 2 months ago.
over the course of owning my truck I had 6 different headunits, too many amps to count, and 5 sets of subs.

Im planning on buying a 250cc so I will be building a new system, probably eclipse

Eclipse 8443
CDT comps up front
coaxials for rear fill
US 4300x or the JL 300/4 r highs

RE XXX's or Brahmas for the subs with a US 2000 for power.

Wired by Knu, of course.

There are better brands, but that wasnt the question.
