Vacuum Trouble

I have a 67' F-250 W/ a 460 and just recently It started chugging realy hard and backfiring through both tail pipe and carb. I tried everything and could not get it back in the proper time. I pulled the vacuum advance vacuum line and vola everything was fine but now I have no timing advance. Has anyone else had this happen?

Maby the advance is froze up in the dist ? If it is a points dist the advance plate could be worn out.

Did you just pull it, or pull and PLUG it? If the latter, then your vacuum advance pot is merely bad. Not only did you lose the vac advance, but you got a nasty vacuum leak.
