I have a 2000 Expedition eddie bauer 4.6L V8 i,m having problems with it smoking at start up( blue smoke) it does it for about 10 second and it stop, and it doesn't do it anymore until it sit for a while or cold start. i have had valve seal guides put in it, but it still does the same thing. anybody got any suggestion on this problem the valve were done by ford company, maybe contact ford headquarter or ask about recall?

You can check recall's in the upper right of the page here. Was this valve seal job done recently? If so, it could be burn off from build up in the cat. But, it sounds like they may not have seated one of the seats properly.
Yes it was done about a month ago and it would do it every once and a while when i first got it back from the shop. But here lately it been doing it on a regular basics. The service manager said that it need about 3000 miles to seat correctly, but it should not still be using oil and smoking at start up.
Problem is they tend not to warrant work after 1200 miles, I would make them sign something saying they recognize this situation and if it persists they will cover it. I think its bunk about the seating period, I built a few motors in my time and never had this problem.
Yes i have got something in writing that they will warrant it, but i see a lot of 4.6 v8 with the same problems i think i going to email the board of directors at ford and see what can be done about this engine or a recall or something, one guys on this site said that his has been done twice and it still doing the same thing.
Fords are popular for thiat problem and it seems like the 4.6 is the biggest culprit. My mother In-Law had a towncar and it done it the whole time she had it.
Sorry again i clean the Egr port it was clogs and i put in a new one that was before i took it to the shop. But i really appreciate the advice if any body else has any suggestion on what i should do let me know? i even ran motor flush through it and nothing seem to help.
