engine year and specs??
hi all,i own a 72 for f-100 that im putting a 289 (i have found out this much so for) where do i find the codes that will tell me the year and wutnot,i would like to know wut the numbers and letters mean,i can do anything with the body but i am in the dark on the engine....HELP ME PLZ

look for casting numbers like c6ae and such. C is the 60s, d is the 70s. 6 is the year like 1966. The rest is worthless for the most part. look on the heads, intake, and below the starter for some casting. The trick is to look for the last casting year.
