engine cutting out

Hello,
I have a 69' F-100. It runs great, but lately when I come to a stop, the engine sputters and cuts out. I'm a novice, but I'm thinking that it as something to do with the fuel mixture. Where should I start? Oh yeah, you'll have to explain it to me like I'm a four-year old. Thanks!

well it could be in the carb, it could need some adjusting or it got some crpa in it, or it could also be the timeing a little off or the points are getting weak, you could just do a tune-up on the old thing would prolly help greatly, post if you need more specific details on what to do as this is just what could be wrong. good look, oh yes what is the motor also.
