Question Aftermarket Intake Plenums! Anyone using them?

I would really like to get these as my turbo is already out for wicked wheel and ATS housing! Do they offer noticeable benefits anywhere? Any help or discussions would be greatly appreciated guys!

I've seen these for sell for some time and asked the same question.

It's about solid aluminum, no potential deforming of the intake when clamping the intercooler boots. (How often does this happen?)

If you got the cash, want bragging rights in your PSD circle then "pick a color" and go for it.

Thumbs down

I say B.S.!

I don't believe it. I can't believe that the cylinder won't fill completely without this thing. If you just call it a dress-up item it's legitimate. When you start to talk about all the problems with stock intakes, I haven't seen them. Anyone else ever run into intake problems? If the minor differences between the stock one and this thing make that big of a difference, imagine what you could do with something like an Edelbrock Victor intake?

Bob is an up standing member of the PSD after market. These Intakes are the Victor jr for a PSD They kick butt, but there are for the guys makes sick hp with a wild set out like 530 hybryds and twins ,big HPOP the guys making 500 to 700 hp so if you have WW and a chip I would save your money and by a fule system or other basic up grade. Bobadanmy stock intakes are much better than what you have on your truck it has the stokers dose yours have the 3 inch inlets not if there stock. and these are a 1/4 inch taller and have been flowed on flow bench from what I read when they came out about a year a go the people that built these have built a new HPOP with a mild chip and injectors are making 500 rwhp seeing as up till now that feat has need a wild set of injectors 530 hybryds aand nasty chip

That's correct. The benefits for you would most likely never offset the costs. Now when you get to the big injectors and huge turbo stage of your PSDitis they might fit the bill, but you can get four victor jr's for what one set of those intakes run.

Lagerhead. I agree with your assessment of Bob. I have had many dealings with him and always come out happy, but those intakes are overpriced no matter which way you slice it.

Think about the number of sb chevys compared to PSDs the market is much smaller and then what persent of those who need the intakesis even smaller. they are not cast like a victor jr ther are billit and have a higher cost to make

I don't know Bob so I won't pass judgement on him. If these intakes are made by him he should be proud of the quality of construction. They appear to be very well made.
My concern is the effectiveness of these intakes. I just don't see a major design revision to make me think that the factory intake has been re-invented.
As always though I would love to see some dyno charts or other documentation to change my mind. I may be wrong but I'm not in doubt.

Call him sometime, he's great to deal with and if he'll drop whatever he's doing just to BS about trucks on the phone with you.

He is not the manufacturer of those intakes, nor are they his design. It's somebody else's product that he tried on his own rig and liked enough to carry them himself.

The intakes effectiveness will be no different than an aftermarket intake or exhaust system, they do the exact same thing, just better....and that only really applies if you can support the airflow to stuff them full.

I won't buy them for two reasons. 1. They are too expensive for what they do, and 2. They are known to interfere with the housing of my ball bearing turbo, and I really don't want to have to take a grinder to either one to get them to fit.
