Interior lights

I have a 2004, F-250 Crew Cab.
When the ignition key goes off the interior lights come on for a short time.
Anyone know how to keep the interior lights from coming on when the key is turned off?

I believe your owner's manual describes the procedure to disable the interior cab lights from coming on.

I checked the book. Nothing indicated. I even tried the dimmer switch for the dash/interior lights. It does not activate until the ignition is on.

These "better ideas" need to be eliminated!

What trim level do you have, and do you have any after market key fob?

I am still capable of working in the dark and I just prefer the lights to go out when I close the door.

sorry loss, I apologize, I thought I had read something about turning off the internal light, guess not. There are is a thread from a while back regarding someone who wanted to turn off the lights while keeping the door ajar. I searched and could find it, sorry man.

Didn't mean to offend... I'm in a Lariat, which does everything except make coffee in the morning. My owners manual doesn't say anything about disarming the light.

I am with "Loss".

When I turn the truck off, it would be nice to have everything turn off.

Conversly, when I want to just sit in it and listen to the radio, it would also be nice to have it stay on for more then 5 minutes without shutting off.

here's another interior question: why does only the driver side front window have an auto down mode? why dont they all have that feature? better yet,why dont they come with auto up???? and what about being able to turn on the light that illuminates the cargo area ONLY, instead of the inside and the cargo area(with all the interior glare you cant see what's in the cargo area from inside the cab)!!!

I agree about the interior lights. I also wish I had a switch like my old blazer which disarmed the interior lights completely, even while the door is open. I need to buy the service manual so I can check out the wiring diagram.

edit: Good point Grumpy! The only vehicle I've heard of having the auto up is my friend's honda. My Aurora had both windows auto down, man that was nice.
