4.2 tiny and underpowered???

I'm very upset about his remarks so I decided to say something about it.

In other words, you bore me.

Ah, do not be upset!

Indeed the 4.2 might be tiny and underpowered compared to the 7.3 diesel.

But, you know what, the 7.3 is like a fart in the bath tub compared to this:

Hey guys I was just reading the thread you were talking about. That guy was very rude to say the least. He should stay in the PSD forum or superduty forum. I wonder what his point is. Hey its a ford thats what counts. I think thats one of the rudest comment Ive seen on FTE. You guys are having a nise thread going on here and the 4.2 forum. Keep up the good posts. Ireally enjoy this forum eventhough I dont have 4.2.

I was thinking...does size really matter?

I know my wife says it's not the size but the motion of the ocean!

Haha, Let's not get off into a tangent now...

The only downside of our trucks is the sound (if you have aftermarket exhaust) and towing capabilities which I don't think any of us are going to be towing trailors loaded down with bulldozers, cranes, etc...haha

RIght on 150ford!!

I apologize, I got a little mad and ran off at the mouth. You're right it's a Ford and thats all that matters. I don't think the 4.2 is a bad motor, in fact a guy in my area has one swapped into a Stang with a blower that runs solid 12s. Don't know his boost level but it has a stock bottomend and he's been runnin the heck out of it for over 2 years no major failures. He had a heck of a time keeping head gaskets in it for a while, but other then that a really sweet ride. I can't say I've driven a 150 with one so I guess I should kep my mouth shut about things I don't have experience with. Anyway my first post was meant as a joke and it kinda got outta hand from there. So keep on truckin and keep it Ford.

Thanks !!!!

Ernie,
A sincere "thank you" from me, and all the regulars here in the 4.2 forum.
I sincerely appreciate you stopping by again.
Fact is, the 4.2 is a fine motor, if that is all you need. Don't go trying to pull 6,500 lbs with it or you're liable to be real disappointed!
In retrospect, we both learned something here (and others too maybe ).
As I said earlier, I can see now how you interpreted all of my "corrective action" post as being directed at you. I learned to make my posts more clearly directed in the future.
Anyways, you are always welcome to stop in and throw your hat into the ring. We all are part of the same families:
FTE and Ford trucks!
Thanks again!
