Went and did it.
I could not stand the ROMP, SMOKE and TOW/HAUL issues anymore. I sent her in for a re-flash. I drove to Holbrook and back last weekend, avg. 20.6 MPG. I hope I dont loose that. My engine is a May 03 build. Going to pick it up in a few hours.
PS. I also needed it for the Predator.

Well It seems to shift much firmer than before the flash. Pilot inj. gone. No more bucking in Tow/Haul. Dont notice any loss of power. Happy so far. We will see if I am happy next time at the pumps, wont we?

My engine build is 1/03... I had a reflash last week to correct the tow/haul (no other issues). Did a short 30 mile tow with canyon driving. Tow/haul is much improved. It appears my acceleration has not changed or possibly improved

I was towing my 5th wheel in Kentucky when the emission light came on. Called the service manager back home and told me not to worry about until I reach my destination in Asheville, NC. When I got there I was pleased to see a lot full of 350, 450, and 550's.
They checked it out and it was an unusual turbo boost found. Imagine that 10,000 miles in Michigan none towing, then hit the mountains of Kentucky and Tennesee with a 12,000lb 5th wheel.
The service manager stated that there was a TSB out and that it would change rough idling and decrease the effect of the tow/haul mode. My engine was running fine and he suggested against the change. He also advised me that Ford is working on another program that will help with engine performance w/o reducing the tow/haul effect.
He told me to call back later to see how the new program works. By the way the dealership was great. They got me right in and out so I could get on my way.

Ok question,is there a new flash that fixes the tow haul issue on the 03?build date is 3/03..I dont want to loose any further mileage or cause any problems.
