if your positive the batterys good and you didnt leave the lights on etc.. it could be the ignition switch, however a couple weeks ago i got in a buddys 90 F250 diesel and turned the key and nothing happened and it turned out the rod that runs from the ignition switch down the steering column to another switch had broke. your prolly wondering what the heck im talking about, but yes a 3/8 rod starts your diesel, it could be that if its not the ignition switch. just my .02 cents worth, btw if it is that rod you have to order it from ford for $9.99. good luck
well, today i got in it and it did the same thing except i held it in the on position for a second and it started. everything else works fine when i turn the key on.
I am a ford tech and it is a comen problem with the conection at the starter, the cable gets corroded and you sometimes have to hold the key in the start possition to warm up the connection and then it starts, try cleaning all the connections inc battery cables and there is a very good chance that you wont see me.
