I have a 1995 f-150 with a 5.0 302 and it does not take off well from the line at all. Once I get to about 3000 rpm's it tends to keep up, but by then I am already smoked off the line. This really ****es me off when I barely keep up with ricers.
3.31, i dont think so unless your a 2wd. i would regear to 4.11 and you will be smoken everyone. also that motor should be mass air so upgrading the upper/lower intake, get headers and exhaust done maybe a set of gt40P heads and a good cam would be good areas to focus on to.
It is a 2 wheel drive and I have a flowmaster on it. I have been doing some research on intakes thats the next step. I'm 19 and going to college so right now a gear swap is kinda out of the question.thx for the help though.
50,
The fuel managment system might suffice for your needs. Do you know what fuel pressure the system is running at?
A good cam maybe the ticket for you. You could get one for $200. Chances are, it probably has some gt40 generation head on it now. Headers will make a signifigant difference. The intake system may be a bit conservative. Have you considered changing the air filter and box to K&N?
Lastly, call the junkyards and see what rearends they have laying around. You may be able to find one cheap.
Good luck,

It was just tuned up about 3 months ago and it has 18 inch rims on it w/ 265/60 tires.I think headers and an intake will be the next two steps.Thx for the comments.
