Check Engine Light On, Code Scanner not Functioning
I just got a 2001 Explorer with over 60,000 miles and CEL is on. When I hooked up a code scanner to the Data Link Connector it wouldn't turn on. The DLC fuse #5 is fine. Pin #16 on the DLC is supposed to be (as far as I was told) 12 volt power for the scan tool but it has NO power. Is there a open circuit somewhere? Can I just put a jumper wire to it to get the scan tool to work?
