Gauge lights don't work
All my gauges work the break and oil light come on when I start it but no lights come on with my headlights.
One thing is its posable that the guages I'm using are from a 78/79 truck and mine is a 77 and I'm using a 77 headlight switch. I think the headlight switch is diff but I don't know for sure.
Any help am I on the right track.

They didn't work.

Did you try twisting the headlight ****? That's how the dash lights get dimmed or turned off... Don't mean to offend - but it's best to try the easy things first...
There are supposed to be lights over the headlight/wiper switches and in the heater controls, do these work?

Those are called Instrument cluster lights.
They work off the rheostat in the headlight switch,
It could be a possbly grounding problem.
It is also possible there is a problem with the printed circuit on the back of the cluster,checking it involves removing it from the dash.
I assume you know how to remove the cluster
