How many of you are flying a flag in front of your house? I'm the only one on my block doing so. I think most kids now just think ohh fireworks and thats it.
I will agree most people don't even know why we celebrate anything. It is too sad. I have been places where during (OUR) national anthem people run around , scream, etc. I guess people fail to realize how many people have given , dedicated , and work their lives/selves to death so that (WE) all enjoy the lives we do. I personally don't put out a flag because I am in the boonies and the only person that would see it would be me, but I hold this day at the highest importance. I commend you for your effort- the sadest part is just 20 some years ago when i was growing up - everyone put out a flag around my community- you would think people would again.
Up until exactly 9:11 am this morning I had my Canadian Red Ensign flying.
This was the flag flying in Canada when I was Born & the only Canadian Flag I appreciate at this time.
Once my 27 ft Flag pole is erected, I will be flying the:
Top = Canadian Red Ensign
Bottom = Alberta (where we live)
Beside the side door :
Prov. of Saskatchewan (I was Born There)
Prov. of Ontario (Michelle was born there?
On my Garage :
The Stars & Stripes for my American Friend's
Now If only I could find a Ford flag for my back window of the Truck
I have one up every day. I am a Viet Nam veteran. And I also have a 3' x 5' flag on my motorcycle year round. I am an American and I am proud of our country and our flag. I also have a small POW flag and a Christian flag on my motorcycle. People stop me all the time to tell me how much they like it.
I have noticed flag waving has gone down dramitacally in the US in the past month.
A lot of it is because of Reagan. You're suppose to fly it half mast till the 5th. If you can't fly it half mast, (stuck diagonally from your house, ect.), you should tie a black ribbon to it. A little late now I suppose. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about it again for a long time...
I have the flag up daily. I have to admit that since 9/11 I have been more concious of flying it as often as possible. It saddens me that more people don't take more pride in their own homeland, regardless of whether they like our current political leaders or not. This is still our home and we should take pride every day that we are as free as we are.
fordlover your opion is is polical so it does belong on this forum remeber we have to be fair to everyone even thought you want people to think were free. we should take pride in whatever we choose many people in america have been abused by the system and have no freedoms.

Hmm, sounds kind of like my little sister complaining about how terrible it was living with my parents. Their words were much like Eddy Murphy's when he said "this is my house . . . you don't like it you can get the @$#% out!" I have noticed a lot more people flying flags since 9/11. Not as many as at first but still more than before. It makes my day to turn onto a neighborhood street and see flags lined up at every house.
