I have the same vibration. Its starts at about 45mph and gets more violent as the speed increases. My truck 2005 supercab 4x4 flareside with 5.4 and 3.73 rearend.I have approx 900 miles on this truck and it is driving me nuts.It went back to the dealer last week for this vibration problem, speedo off by 4mph and ac not blowing cold air. They recharged the ac and all is fine, after 2 hours they still couldn't correct the speedo so are replacing the instrument cluster tomorrow. After driving the truck they said the vibration issue was just out of balanced tires. They did a high speed balance and tire rotation and said "vibration is gone" WRONG!! It is going back in tomorrow for the instrument cluster replacement and the vibration issue again.Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.

What kind of vibration are you guys talking about? I get a little bit of "nibble" in the steering wheel at about 50-60mph. Anything over or under is OK.

My vibrations feel similar to a flat or loose rear tire , it has a harmonic rhythm to it . You can feel it in the seat and floor, not so much in the steering.Happens at highway speeds, while travelling at a constant speed. It makes a smooth stretch of road feel bumpy.

know how to fix the vibration problem

As a first time FORD buyer I tried go give them the benefit of a doubt, just did no work out for me...after 4 driveshafts, new set of tires, replace ring and pinion etc......parts to numerous to mention and Ford not wanting or willing to work with me on a new replacement truck....I am FREE! I traded my truck in for a new 2005 Z71 offroad, extend cab GMC ....now for the first time in almost a year I can say I LOVE MY TRUCK.....no more stress, no more worrying about spending a lifetime in the service dept...and it is all thanks to the Employee plan and incentives offered by GMC, that and the fact that they offered me a lot more than FORD to buy back my truck...... Sorry guys but as much as I tried I am no longer a FORD follower.....hope all works out for the rest of you too! GOOD LUCK you are going to need it! Did I say I love my NEW "non vibrating" Truck?! My vibration was in the steering wheel and was a back and forth vibration, as opposed to a side-to-side movement of the steering wheel. It happened at 40-55 mph, but only when accelerating. A replacement of rear ring and pinion made the problem go away.

Update on my vibration.service guys did road force balance on all wheels and discovered a bent rim. Replaced the rim and did a road test with some sort of vibration anylyzer. They came back and said vibrations are now within spec.I've been driving for 3 days now and vibrations seemed minor (but still there),HOWEVER while traveling home from work today a vibration developed in the steering. It feels like a really quick side to side ocillation, at first I thought the truck was lugging in overdrive so I shut off the overdrive, engine rpms went up but the vibration stayed the same. The vibrations are from 40 to 55mph while on the gas and while coasting off the throttle.I will be going to a different dealer for service.Does anybody have any thoughts on where the vibrations could be coming from? My truck 2005 f150 extended cab flareside 4x4 with 5.4 engine and 3.73 LS axle. approx 1000 miles on truck

Update to my update. Its no wonder Ford is having a hard time figuring out vibration issues,On my way into work this morning the vibration was different from last night.Still it starts at about 40 but now only while accelerating, nice and smooth when off the throttle. It now feels more like gears meshing. This is felt thru the steering wheel.Vibration feels similar to the vibration you feel when you put your hand on the floor shifter to engage 4wd(gear mesh).I'm thinking its in the front differential because the vibration is constant with tire rpm not engine rpm.I can shift in and out of overdrive and vibration stays the same.I will mention this to the service manager. Other than this I love my truck!

I have several posts on the FTE prior to unloading my truck. The last one was to let others know there is another option besides all the trips to the service department. I am glad you love your truck, in fact I am happy for you...I would not wish what I had been going through on anyone. The fact that FORD can make a quality vehicle is not and was not the issue for me, it was the fact that I did not receive a QUALITY vehicle and Ford could not figure out how to make it one .

Good luck to all, I hope you get the results you are looking for from the service department and Ford.

Anyway, after 10 days in the shop they discovered that the problem was not in the rear axle or because of unbalanced tires.

So they began replacing parts one at a time, until they replaced the entire exhaust system..
That fixed the problem for me 100%.. I haven't had any vibration for the last 1000 miles... I'm not saying that they knew exactly what the problem was, instead they took an educated guess and that worked for me..

Hope this helps

The exhaust?! What in the world did they say was causing the exhaust system to make it vibrate? I'm having the same issues with my 1999 Superduty and like everyone else they've replaced practically everything else (at my expense).
