I hope some of the guru's can help here. This is the problem. Driving down the highway yesterday, truck running fine then it just died. Coasted to the side and tried to restart. Nothing. Changed CPS still nothing and the tach does move. It is pumping fuel to the bowl. Drained it then turned on the key and it filled right away. The batteries are only 2 months old but I put them on the charger all night and still nothing. Pulled one of the HPOP lines and its pumping. Pulled the Valve covers and checked the injector wiring harness on both banks and they are good. Replaced the gaskets with the pass through connectors and still nothing. All fuses are good both under the hood and under the dash. No codes in the computer. I'm starting to think Injector driver module. Anybody have any ideas?
You mentioned that you replaced the batteries two months ago. This is just a thought, but I did the same awhile ago and shortly afterward had similar problems. Couldn't figure it out until someone told me to check the battery ground. Even though I had juice to eveything, it was indeed loose. Once I snugged it up all was well. Good luck!
Well, I got me a pressure gauge and checked the pressure from the HPOP. During cranking it is only putting out 90psi of oil pressure.. Made sure it had oil in the hpop so now it seems my problem is a faulty HPOP. Since everything is close around here today does anyone have a ballpark figure for the cost of a HPOP or if a rebuild kit is available?
I'm have like problems ( see busboys, won't start not cps ) how did you check the pressure? is ther a schrader valve on the pump?? I believe that pump is pretty pricey. Please post your fix...I'm about ready to burn mine. It is in a van / rv chassis you cannot hardly enen see an engine with all the extra crap the builder added. good luck
One HPOP and IPR ($ 750.00 and about 4 hours of my time) and she's running again. Busboys, the way I checked the pressure is put a high pressure gauge into the oil rail. You can remove the plug that most people use to install the HPX. Once installed just crank her over and watch your gauge. On cranking you should see at least 700psi. Hope that helps you.
