towing with my chip
i was wondering how safe it is too tow with an chip. i will be at about 20,000 lbs. gross. my truck is a 97 f-350 4 dr 4x4, i have a 75 hp hypertech module, 3 in down pipe and 5 in the rest of the way. i have pillar gauges but i put the pyro after the turbo in the down pipe. what is a safe egt with it after the turbo??????? dont want any troubles on my trip. also the truck has the auto trans. ty

Having your pyro probe mounted post turbo is the stickler here. I've heard varying amounts to compensate for mounting the probe in that location, but if you're holding the temps below 900 post turbo, you're probably safe. It's when the pyro is climbing you could be at risk, since the post mounted probe gets it's information later than a pre mounted probe.
It's not really a huge job to relocate it to pre turbo, and you'd be able to monitor the temps "real time".
