what next???

I just ordered my headers from Summitt... thanx again X. I have a lot of plans for my xp but without those I was limited. I plan on lowering it next. I read through some old posts and again CobraXP showed great knowledge. $45 lowering job.. I'm in. I also plan on getting edelbrock IAS shocks. Cobra what do you have for wheels? you need to get some better pics up. I think you have done with your xp what I plan to do. please list your mods for me. I came across explorerxpress... aso from an old posting of CobraXP... WOW.. there's even more available than I knew. Steeda has good prices on swaybars... I think I may order those soon. ANY suggestions on an aftercat exhaust... Does Gibson live up to thier claims?

Back to the lowering... the bumpers in the front... how exactly do they lower the truck? Will the front end be messed up? the back is pretty straight forward, I had already looked at the block kits at work.. I'm an autozoner... but Im not sure about the front.

thanks again everyone

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Sep-02 AT 10:16 PM (EST)]You lower the front by adjusting the torsion bars. A couple of turns, and you are down. Took me all of 15 minutes to get the front down and level, and about 30 minutes on the rear. I only went 2", which is really all I recommend. Any further and you really get a rougher ride. I am going to start a different thread with some pics in it and instructions on lowering - that way if anyone uses the search feature, they will find it faster.

As far as my mods - lets see...

-Explorer Express Eaton supercharger kit (modified to fit)
-80mm Pro-M mass air
-24lb injectors
-K&N FIPK
-MSD DIS-4 Ignition with Adapters
-MSD Coil Packs
-FMS '99-'02 Mustang Hood Scoop (functional)
-FMS Headers with custom exhaust
-Diablo chip
-Mallory Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
-Autometer Boost and Fuel Pressure Gauges
-2" lowering
-Alpine/Kicker/Pioneer/JL Audio system
-Cobra R wheels with Michelin 265/55/17 rubber

Mods to come:
- '93 Cobra longblock (in the garage waiting )
- 36lb injectors
- 11 or 15lb Eaton pulley
- E303 cam
- Whatever else I think of...

Man, I'd have to think of the rest... I am in the process of getting all my pics together and finishing my FTE website, hopefully I'll get it done by next weekend. I am going on vacation leaving in the morning, and getting back Thursday, but will have the laptop to try and keep up with posts if I can...

Let me know what I can help with!!

Sorry - I forgot about the exhaust and bumpers (long day)...

I would not go for a catback system. For what they cost, you can have a custom job done for around the same price or less, depending on who does it. Plus I thnk you will like the outcome of this better:

My suggestion:

1) Cut all 4 cats off.
2) Run 2.5" pipe from FMS headers to rear.
3) Run (1) 2-in-2-out hi flow cat.
4) Run a Flowmaster (or equivalent) 2-in-1-out muffler.

If you want true duals, you will have to run 2" pipe and loose the spare tire. Don't try to run the pipes with the spare, because the gas lines run down the left side of the frame and to almost the rear of the tank (come in on top). For duals, either run a 2-in-2-out muffler or 2 separate mufflers.

And yes - the way I mentioned is legal and will pass emissions (just in case you are wondering)...

As far as the bumpers, if you lower the X, you might want to think about replacing the bumpers. It will save on wear and tear. Check out the write-up on Explorer Express about them. I know of cheaper places to get them if you are interested...
