anyone have a really good cell phone plan? me and a buddy are figurin on getting some cells, but really dont want to spend to much (you do want to see my truck grow now dont you?)
rollover sounds good, and so does the free calling inside the network
The family plan from T-moble I have is really good. It's $50 per month, that includes 2 phones, unlimited weekends and nights and calling between T-moble customers, and 400 regular minutes.
Do not use cingular wireless, I have had some bad dealings with them. They promise good things but they will get you in the end. I have had some good luck with Verizon and with T-Mobile.
Your best bet is to shop around. You can get coverage maps from every provider and see who has coverage where you go. Also, plan rates change from region to region, so what might cost me 39.99 in Kansas, might cost you 24.99, or 49.99. What I would do is get a listing of plans from the carriers you like and sit down and see what fits my life the best.
Dont get cingular, im looking around for another plan, had cingular for 3 years and they suck. They find ways to charge you. Im looking at nextel right now.
a girls butt caught on fire today from a Verizon phone, it was in her back pocket and just burst into flame.
we have a AT&T pre paid no contract. however there are a lot of places we don't get service.
Quest offered us a cell for $40 a month if we tied it into our home phone.
we still don't want any contract.
I have been with AT&T for 5 years. Though it was a little pricey I loved their digital network. I've been on their GSM network for 2 years now and absolutely hate it. The only advantage is that it's cheap but the service is horrible. My AT&T phone also works on the Cingular network now that they've bought AT&T. From what I can tell Cingular has pretty good coverage but I can't vouch for their prices.
I like the ATT GSM service and it just keeps getting better here in central wa. Best thing to do if you are interested in coverage is to check the providers maps to make sure you will be covered wherever you go. It just so happens ATT covers where I go and now that cingular is merging I get even better coverage.
Now a lot of companys have like 14 day trial periods, so get a brochure from every company you like, find the best deal, and use the trial period to see if you really like it. Thats what we're planning on doing soon. Hope it helped.
I've had verizon for two years now, and my coverage keeps improving. My wife joined my plan and we share minutes. We are also in the 'in' plan where we don't get charged for talking to other verizon wireless people. The wife had a local company here in VA (Norfolk area) called N-Telos. Tons of minutes, but absolutely horrible service. She would be roaming if we went twenty miles away, or her calls would drop for no reason. She dumped them as quickly as she could. The reason I mention the bad service, is because her plan was good on paper, but didn't turn out very well. I use the Verizon wireless all over the east coast, Ohio, Alabama, and Florida and the only time my signal is weak is when I have trees all around me (in the boonies).
Oh, and I believe they had a recall on those cell batteries that caught fire.
I use Tracfone and our carrier is Verison, although it differs from state to state. I have excellent service and Tracfones can be used nationwide. No cntracts. No monthly bills. All you need to do is buy airtime at least once every 60 days to keep the phone active. Or..you can buy a yearly activation card, which usually comes with 150 - 300 minutes and a plan for double airtime when you buy more time. Depends on what you want. I find it to be a lot cheaper than a cell phone plan that usually wants a huge deposite. They usually have some good sales during the year too.
I just got a Verizon account about three weeks ago. I haven't really had time to find out just how good it is, but as far as service and getting a signal, they are the best around here. The only other option is Cell One. As an example, our fire department had some guys come out to reprogram some two-way radios. They had cell service with Cell One and couldn't get a signal. Now, our firehall is built into a hill side so you are in a low spot with the cell towers on the back side about 20 miles away. In the same spot I can get a signal with my phone from Verizon. With my plan I have 400 anytime minutes, free in-network calling (calls between verizon customers), free nights and weekends. It is just under $50 a month after all the taxes. I also live near the stateline where Alltell has service, and Verizon has a contract with them so I don't get charged roaming if I hit their towers. I guess after I get my first bill I'll see just how well I like them. Just shop around and check coverage. What I hear is that local companies often don't have coverage just a few miles outside their city and you either get no service or a lot of roaming, so watch out for that.
Virgin mobile. No contract. Keep number active by purchasing at least $20 every 90 days. Unused time rolls over. Cost 25 cents per minute for first 10 minutes in a day, 10 cents per minute for minutes after the first 10 in a day. Phones sometimes on sale at Target stores. Mine was $40 or $50, I forget.
