This is what I am running
76 F150 4X4
74 460
C9VE ported heads, stock valve train
Timing chain set straight up
L&L headers 2 1/2 in dual exhaust
Weiand Stealth intake
214--224 @.050 cam
K&N air filter
Edelbrock 650 carb
Any guesses on what RWHP I will be making? I am putting it on the dyno tomorrow after work and will post the numbers.
Before I had the heads on but every thing else the same, I was at 258RWHP and 330TQ with a poor a/f graph. I could have probably tuned another 5RWHP out of it.
Don't have that info either. When I got the motor built about 2 years, I just had the guy put in a good RV cam so I am not exactly sure brand or grind. It wasn't that important to me back then but as HP gets to be more fun, I wish I would have paid more attention to that.
Figuring about a 22% parasitic power loss through the drivetrain (4wd) your original numbers add up to about 331 HP and about 423 lb/ft torque at the crank. Pretty weak for even a modest 460. If your A/F was off that's probably the culprit (and I bet your timing could use some tweaking).
I'll use the specs for the Crane H-272-2 as the duration is relatively close at 216/228. I will also presume a "generic" 9.0:1 CR since you don't have that listed.
Desktop Dyno gives the following for your combo...
Using the same parasitic loss above (22%) this should net you around 336 HP / 381 lb ft torque at the rear wheel. These numbers are right in line with what I'd expect from a mild 460.
