Just looked for a brake controller and have found them from less than a $100 to $150+. Now the question is, is there a sponsor of this site that sells them?
Dont know about where to buy it, but I can't speak highly enough of the Prodigy Brake Controller. I have used several brands/models in the past, and this one is by far the best. I have had no problems getting nice sure smooth stops on both a 150 and my current 350 class trucks, both gradual and panic, and NO leveling is necessary. Wherever you get it from, JUST GET IT!
My Prodigy works great on three different trailers without adjustment. Mine is rated for multi axles (don't remember the model) - got it at Redneck Trailer Supply in Springfield, MO cheaper than anything shown above. If Motorhaven doesn't have it and anyone wants more info on price and model let me know and I will bring info to work tomorrow.
if ur doing much hauling, the prodigy is the only choice u got it stops my 35' gooseneck w/ 18K-23K on it every day, and makes it feel like a 800lb utility trailer..... very smooth
and it even recognizes when the ABS comes on and adjusts...
Big Hoss,
Any particular gooseneck hitch brand you recomend? I'll be hauling a 67 mustang road racer... about 3200 lbs and a 24' lowboy car hauler.
mine is a curt. 30,000lb. its nice because the ball "flips" down under with a little handle. much better than the solid ones or the ones u have to unbolt.
it has taken beatings that u cant inagine!!! (550's ride VERY rough!!)
and there is an option for a 3 1/4" ball.
put it in the bed 6-9 inches in front of the axle center, and load the car as far forward as u can, and it will ride well. air bag helpers will really smooth it out.

Thanks, I wondered about the flip ball as in whether it had any play in it or if it locked tight. Good helpful info from all you guys. I've caught several things on my truck from the info here.
Thanks to all.
