ABS light/speedometer problem
Hi everyone, I just joined, so I don't know if this has been covered before. I have a '99 ford ranger 4x2, with 2.5 L engine and 5sp manual trans. On the drive home last night the ABS light came on. When I got home, I turned the truck off and then restarted it. The light didn't stay on, so I thought it might have just been a glitch of some sort. Well, this morning the light came on again, and just 4 blocks from home my speedometer needle bounced a few times and went to zero. Are these two occurances somehow related? I just had the front brakes done about two weeks ago. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I'd hate to take it in to the shop if its something easy to fix.
