Installed the headers today to go with the borla catback that I installed a couple months ago that I can't say I noticed any performance improvement but is sure sounds and looks cool. Everything fit fine, the biggest pain was probably putting the stage 8 hardware together. The truck has a much deeper tone at idle and throughout the rpm range. Sounds good, not too loud but definately more throaty than stock. Performance increase is noticeable from midrange up to 5k+rpm. I'm satisfied with the improvement. Next is the cobra T/b that should be here soon and then a programmer to get rid of the fuel delivery delay that is very noticeable now with the headers on. Waiting for the Diablo probably.
congrats! a nice project to do yourself. gotta figure you saved yourself about $400
you must have had some broken bolts.
did mine sunday. two broken compliments of ford and one by me. used the two piece easy out from sears. sounds good with the borla split side. but the accufab sctb 96-98 plus aem intake plus 1715 tuner really make it go
I did'nt encounter any broken bolts, would not have expected any with only 2,800 miles on the odometer! I believe that the exhaust with the accufab t/b and a programmer will end up with a responsive ride.
what size granatelli? 95mm?
want to install this next.
then get the diablo 4 bank like you got.
will i need to get dyno info to get a custom tune?
then ill be looking to unload the 1715.
also with all youre airflow do you think youd ever go for larger injectors?
I've tried to find out exactly what size this Grnatelli MAFS is, but can't. I believe there's only one size they make for the V10. I don't believe a dyno would be needed. I'm pretty much done moddin this engine. It's got a great burn to it right now and I'm fully content w/ its performance the way it is.
My thoughts are that the headers/catback, t/b, and programmer would be the extent of my mods. Any reason the programmer could not be effective with this setup
