TPS adjustment

I have a 1999 X with the 5.0, and have just order'd a new TPS from Ford. I have heard that some TPS's are adjustable, while others are not. Has anyone switched their TPS out? I'm trying to determine if the TPS for the 5.0 X will need to be adjusted, or not?

Thanks for the help!

Post TPS adjustment

The adjustable ones have elongated mounting holes. If yours doesn't have them what you get is just that. A voltage more than about 1.0 VDC at idle will cause the computer to complain. Some manuals say to set this at .98 VDC, others at .48 VDC. I'd say check the range you have with your replacement unit, if it's adjustable, and set it somewhere in between, but not more than 1.0 VDC.

Thanks,

Once I get the new TPS, I'll let everyone know what the outcome is (whether the TPS was adjustable or not).
