Question Shake, rattle and roll!

I've been experiencing a vibration problem lately. It occurres only when I let off of the accellerator. If I'm on a really smooth highway it gets really bad when I let my foot off of the throttle. As long as there is load on the differential, I have no problem. Could this be a bad u-joint? I went under and checked, but the u-joint seems fine. Any info?

Wheel bearings, Tie Rods, Steering Knuckel, Ball Joints, wore out transmission bushing, Motor mounts. It could be any of these or a combination.

I have heard, don't want to say this for sure, that that is a symptom of a worn differential? Does the vibration come from the back of the van? And if someone could tell me if the guy that told me this was full of it or not I'd appreciate it.

Does it make noise along with the vibration?
A seized U-joint can cause that problem and the only way to find it is to remove the driveshaft so you can pivot the U-joints back and forth.
Yes a worn out diff can cause that too.

It makes a low pitch rumbling sound. Sounds like its comming from about the middle of the van, but I could be wrong. If it is the differential, is there a way to tell?

Thanx Racerguy!! It was a seized rear u-joint. Cost me $12 bucks and now the van rides shake free.
