Oil pan woes!!

Hello guys, i have a bit of a problem i cant get my 351 c in my 55 f100 frame. i have a Mustang II installed and i have a front sump oil pan on there but its in the way of the crossmember. i was told to use a rear sump pan and new pickup tube but i have called Jegs and Summit and both have them out of stock and on back order. i was also told that a 351 m or 400 would fit but i dont know and thats my question, also what car and yr so i can find it from parts store. thanks RT

I think your talking about the 77-79 ( it may have been used up to the end of 351-400 production in 4x4's ) 351-400 4x4 pan. It's a rear sump pan. You will need the dip stick tube, pick up tube, & the special stud that attaches the pick up tube.

I got one from a junk yard for my 400 in my '53 F-100. It was off of a 351 half ton I believe. I had to do exactly what mark a. said to do. Not hard at all. Summit had the rear pick up tube and the dip stick I believe I got from Ford. All you need is a rear sump pan out of a 4x4, it's that simple and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying one from Summit, as I believe all they have are the big ones from Milodon.

Hope this helps.
