I got some long tubes for my 79 and my exhaust guy tried for 3 hours to get the manfolds off. He said that it's probaly going to break off most of them.
So he stopped casue he said he didn't have the tool to drill them out if they did break.
So anyone have any more hints to getting them off. Would I be better off pulling the motor out to get them off so they can be drilled.
All I know was that I was scared of this casue nothing can ever be easy.
Anybody know someone in southern IN that will do this kinda work.
well if they do break off I weld a nut onto them (this is if they break close to the head) this does 2 things first it gives you something to put a wrench on, and second the heat created from the welding almost always loosens the threads in the head, other than that no tricks that I can think of that would help you other than unbolt them and do what I suggested for any that break.
