i am putting in my valve and springs today, i droped the pan and the factory gasket came right off. my question is can i reuse that gasket it seems to be a much higher quality gasket(metal reinforced rubber) than the cork one that came with the new filter i bought.
ok another question; i got the sonnax valve in but after reomving the clips for the springs i canot get the plungers for the springs out of the valve body, the instructions say to gently pull them out by the bolt but they will not budge(they move about 1/8 of an inch and stop dead)...help

Yea the autoparts place told me that you can re-use the stock gasket. It sure does look better than the one that comes with the filter kit. Just make sure you clean it good and you should be fine. I haven't had any leaking with mine or the 2 other trucks that I helped buddies put the valve and springs in.

The stock gasket is a lifetime gasket you never need to replace it.
Let us know how you like the kit. I like mine...
i like it, it does not shift too hard, its a good firm shift but it does not slam the gear changes. i was afraid it would be to stiff, i had a street/strip shift kit in my 73 mach I and it shifted very hard...this is a good shift

Please tell me about this spring thing. I'm haveing a new (Ford reman) tranny put in my truck. Should this spring thing be taken care of before it goes in?
THANKS!

its like a basic shift kit, the kit has a new valve and 3 shift springs to quicken shifts and increase fluid line pressure, you can get the kit at www.dieselinnovations.com its $50.00
i would have one put in now, its a pretty easy install. i would be much easier to put in while the trans is being built. if you wait until it is in you have to drop the pan and remove a valve body. like i said it is not to tuff but it is very messy
