Never considered jumping ship to Dodge. I have talked to a lot of owners of diesel light trucks. Despite what you read on this and other forums, this engine does not have the problems one would be led to believe by reading on the Internet. Those of us who spend time on these forums, IMO, represent a small percentage of the total ownership. There are those who post negative issues who claim the problems are epidemic with the 6.0 when there is no evidence to support it. Dodge and other competitors have similar issues. Any mass produced product is going to have manufacturing related problems from time to time.

Of course, that means that you cannot back up your positive statement any better than anyone else can back up their negative statement.
As one OEM vendor has stated, a 5% warranty repair rate on a part sends the Big 3 into orbit, potentially causing the vendor to lose business.
So who knows what the defect rate on the 6.0 really is. But 5% rate is unacceptable (to Ford) and a 10% rate is very, very high.
I think that you have a blue haze surrounding your head, but you are correct, there are no hard numbers that really tell us how the 6.0 is doing one way or the other
So tell me what makes you think my post qualifies me for having a blue haze. I think this is going to be a "half empty, half full".

Your comments are interesting and mirror my own experience. Over the past year I've made a point of talking to as many 6.0 owners as I can. I've talked to several dozen so far, and NOT ONE has had (or was willing to admit to) having any problems with their 6.0. Not very scientific but it works for me.
Also, when doing interstate driving I've started to look at what kind of trucks are pulling the 5th wheels, horse trailers, work trailers and such - overwhelmingly they are Ford diesels - and a lot are 6.0's. I've had a bunch of 6.0's pulling trailers pass me doing at least 80+ mph - never seen one pulled over broken down, either.
Just my observations.

Please take a moment to read the Guidelines then enjoy alll FTE offers.
I would never even consider any other diesel. Just remember when you say "all these problems" you are only reading posts from those who did have problems you are not hearing from the silent and vast majority who never had any problems. I have not driven the dodge but I have driven a brand new chevy with the new diesel LS6 I think they call it and trust me it might be a good truck but it does not run anything like my 6.0 PSD!!!!
