they never have said it was for a S/D, just said it was for the 5.4....Like I thought Ken Belle would, too. But when I called them and e-mailed them, they assured me the S/D is different. I was really bummed out cuz Ken Belle is only a couple of miles from me.
The only one I have found for the S/D that's S/D specified is Vortech. Eventhough I have my heart set on a twin screw. I have emailed Vortech to see if the 2003 S/D I have will take their set up for a 2002. Ya' just never know for sure, but it should

I only own 3 Fords. 2 - 2002s and a 2003. Total MSRP of around $125,000. Just can't stand them, I guess.
I also own a fully restored 1964 Ford Falcon and am Vice President of the local Falcon Club.
So post my picture in the Post Office if you want. Ford's Most Wanted #1. Yep, that's me.
I will admit that I have absolutely no brand loyalty. I buy what suits me and is the best deal at the time. If that is a Ford, OK with me. I actually get better deals on GM, but they don't sell anything that I want to buy. Drove a Suburban before buying my X. Glad I got the X.
You do know that I have a 2003 7.3 PSD X don't you? You do know that the X replaced a '99 F250 SC PSD, didn't you?
What you have seen me do is complain vigorously about Ford's incredibly poor customer service. They suck and I will tell you and everyone else that fact every single chance that I get. If this bothers you, too bad. I believe that Ford follows this forum, and I want to get the message across loud and clear.
In case you missed the point of my post, it was that no one knows what the problem rate is, good or bad. I have no business saying X% are bad, so I don't, because I don't know for sure. But the opposite is also true. No one else knows what % have been good. I was pointing out that a 5% defect rate is considered very high, and a 10% defect rate sends Detroit into cardiac arrest. But I don't know what the 6.0 defect rate is and have never suggested otherwise. But to say that 90% have been good really is not saying very much.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
My Cousin and (2) close friends have '03 6.0 Duallies. One has over 60,000 miles already. No problems from any of them. In fact it is mostly their experiences that finaly convinced me to buy my 1st diesel. At 4,500 miles I am very happy.
I hate to admit it but alas, I did drive a Dodge Cummings 4x4. Just didn't like it. I have other friends that LOVE their Dodge Hemi's but when I asked them about the diesel? Well, Like I said...they LOVE their Hemi's.
So take it for what it is worth but my experiences have been very positive.
FYI: On a kinda side note. It is merely my observation but it seems that no one really compares the Duramax to the 6.0 or the Cumminings when shopping for diesel trucks. The Chevy purist just buys the Chevy. While shoppers seem to shop the Ford / Dodge lines with little or no regard to the Chevy.
Whata ya think? Bad observation?

OK. You're right. That's another way to look at it.
